G20 Is Opportunity to Promote Uttar Pradesh’s Culture Globally: State Chief
18:53 22.01.2023 (Updated: 11:22 23.01.2023) India assumed presidency of the G20 on 1 December 2022 and will hold it until November 2023. The theme of the country's presidency is 'India G20: Inclusive, Sustainable, and Resilient Growth'.
Uttar Pradesh State Chief Yogi Adityanath has said that hosting the G20 summit will give the state a chance to promote its culture and food globally.
Addressing a meeting of the state working committee in the state capital Lucknow, Adityanath said: “India is hosting the G20 summit this year and 11 events are to be held in four of Uttar Pradesh's cities - Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi and Gautam Buddha Nagar. This is a great chance to promote the state’s culture and food at a global platform.”
Adityanath added that Uttar Pradesh has become one of the favorite destinations for investors. “Big investors in the country want to come and invest in the state. Because of this investment, around 16.1 million youths have jobs,” he said.
Highlighting the development work done by the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath said that the BJP government is determined to develop the cultural heritage and is doing so with the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi and Kumbh Mela - a major Hindu pilgrimage - in Prayagraj.
Earlier this week, the Uttar Pradesh state chief announced that the state will celebrate its foundation day on 24 January and the event will be used to launch a series of programs.
He also laid the foundation stone for the G20 multi-purpose sports hall at KD Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow to be built at a cost of INR 51.9Mln ($640,000). He was assisted by deputy state chief Brajesh Pathak, who handed him the flag bearing the G20 logo.
Adityanath also talked about the BJP’s victory in the Gujarat state assembly polls in December last year, praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that under Modi's leadership, India will soon become the fourth-largest economic superpower in the world.
As well as state chief Yogi Adityanath and deputy state chiefs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, more than 700 representatives from the entire state - including all office bearers - took part in the meeting.
