Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) future is up in the air, with the Argentine set to become a free agent on 30 June if he doesn't agree to sign a contract extension.
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has offered a whopping $438 million-per-year deal to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Lionel Messi, football pundit, and tipster Fabrizio Romano claimed in a tweet on Wednesday.
According to Romano, if the Argentinian agreed to the official bid made by the kingdom's side, it would make him the highest-paid footballer in the world.
At present, La Pulga's eternal competitor Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-earning football player on the planet. CR7 is reportedly paid $221 million a year by Al Hilal's arch-rival Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo joined the former Saudi champions in December 2022.
Romano is widely regarded in the football world for his transfer predictions and reports.
In the past, he correctly reported Messi's transfer to PSG much before the former Barcelona captain moved to France and also was the first to break the news of Ronaldo's switch to Saudi Arabia.
Speculation over Messi's future with the reigning French champions has risen in recent weeks as the World Cup winner hasn't agreed to fresh terms over a one-year contract extension with them.
Besides Al Hilal, Romano confirmed Messi's erstwhile club Barcelona is also among the suitors who are trying to secure his signature in the next few months.
