Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan stands accused in nearly 150 cases, including terrorism charges, which have been filed against him across the country.
Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan on Monday accused the authorities of planning another "operation" to arrest him during the upcoming Eid holidays.
Khan made the remarks through his counsel in the Lahore High Court (LHC), stating that he feared that the security forces would attempt to take him prisoner from his Zaman Park home in the city of Lahore.
In his petition filed in the LHC, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief sought to bring an end to "coercive government action" against him and his party besides asking the judicial body to quash several cases registered against him, mostly on terrorism-related charges.
During the hearing, Barrister Salman Safdar, who was representing the cricketer-turned-politician in the LHC, informed the bench that state authorities were running a vendetta campaign against Khan and that the court should direct the police to stop filing cases against his client.

"Everything has a limit. In all cases the police are the complainant," Safdar argued in court.
Khan's lawyer added that there was one thing all the cases had in common, that is, the former Prime Minister was charged with terrorism, before pressing the court to take note of the situation.

"Now, Eid is coming and the court will not be working. During these days the police may open another front at Zaman Park," Safdar said, before urging the court to order the police to not file a case during these days.

At this point, Khan told the bench that despite court orders, an operation to arrest him from his Zaman Park residence had taken place last month.
"Now during holidays, they will launch an operation. I have credible reports that they will launch an operation. The court must stop them," the PTI chief suggested. "I am just informing you about the threats beforehand," Khan elaborated.
Subsequently, the bench announced that the matter was being sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) who would constitute a full bench to hear the case.
Khan's claims about another operation at Zaman Park come after last month's pitched battles the police waged with his supporters when security forces went there to arrest him.
Following the violence, Khan made his way to Islamabad where a local court had asked him to appear in person or face arrest. However, arson and vandalism once again took place as police and workers of his party clashed at the judicial complex there.
