India's top wrestlers are protesting against the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, for alleged sexual harassment and financial misappropriation.
India's top wrestlers protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Thursday eventually offered to return their medals after accusing the Delhi Police of manhandling them late Wednesday night.

"The honours conferred on us by the Indian government are useless if we are subjected to abuse and misbehaviour by the Delhi Police. If this is how wrestlers are treated, what will we do with our medals? Rather we will live a normal life and return all the medals and awards to the Indian Government," said Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia on Thursday.

Punia is a former recipient of the Padma Shree, India's fourth-highest civilian award.
In a video, Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik was in tears, and Commonwealth Games medallist Vinesh Phogat was seen arguing with the officials. Phogat alleged that a drunk policeman had assaulted her brother and claimed another police officer had shoved her and her sister, fellow wrestler, Sangeeta Phogat.
Swati Maliwal, boss of the Delhi Commission for Women, alleged that she was detained by Delhi Police late on Wednesday night when she tried to meet protesting wrestlers at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Maliwal and parliamentarian Deepender Singh Hooda tried to meet wrestlers last night to support the protesters. However, they were not allowed. Maliwal was also stopped today from seeing the wrestlers.
Several opposition parties, including Congress and Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), have extended their support to the wrestlers' protest against the WFI chief over sexual harassment charges.
The AAP called a meeting of its lawmakers and party officials in connection with the matter on Thursday.

WFI President Accused of Sexual Harassment

Top Indian wrestlers, including Asian and Commonwealth Games medalist Vinesh Phogat and Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia, and Sakshi Malik, are protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the Wrestling Federation of India's (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing him of sexual harassment and financial misappropriation.
This is the second time the athletes have staged a protest.
They first protested in January this year for three days, but they ended the protest after being assured that a committee would be formed to file its report in a month.
Hundreds of people from Haryana, started their journey to Delhi to support the protesting wrestlers, after Delhi Police on Thursday announced that they had tightened the security across Delhi Border.
