On 6 June, the girl, Shrishti Kushwaha, tripped and fell into the borewell while playing with her friends in the field in Mugavali, a village in the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.
It has been more than 40 hours since a two-and-a-half-year-old girl fell into a 300-foot borewell in India's Madhya Pradesh state, and the rescue team is now using a robot to help them bring her out safely.
"A team of experts has arrived at the spot with a robot. Efforts are being made to rescue the child, with the help of the robot," officials told Indian media.

On Wednesday, teams of the National Disaster Response Force, the State Disaster Response Force, and the Indian Army managed to pull the girl up to a depth of 20 to 30 feet in the borewell.
The team is using heavy earth movers to drill the rocky ground which has added a level of complication to the operation.
Oxygen is being supplied into the borewell to prevent the girl from asphyxiation.
Though there has been no movement by the girl for the past few hours, the rescue team is pinning its hopes on the robot to get Shrishti out of the borewell.
According to reports, the landowner dug the borewell only a few days ago, but since it failed to collect water, he left it open.
The Sehore administrative officers said once the rescue work was over, a case would be registered against the landowner who left the borewell open.
