President of Rus BioPharm Group Speaks on India and Russian Diversifying Trade Relationship

From April 2022 to February 2023, Indian-Russian trade surged to a record high of $45 billion amid western sanctions slapped on Russia after the launch of the special military operation in Ukraine.
Over the past 15 months, the structure of the Russian market has changed significantly.
Many Western brands have left the Russian market, and new Asian players have come into their place.
In a conversation with Sputnik on the sidelines of the 26th edition of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Satya Karm Punia, President, Rus BioPharm Group, spoke about how India and Russia could diversify their trade relationship away from defense and energy, as well as about the prospects of Indian retail chains enering the Russian market any time soon.
