Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) Subramanyam Jaishankar on Wednesday revealed the reason behind not inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the G-20 leaders' summit scheduled to be hosted under New Delhi's presidency next month.On the other hand, India's top diplomat confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin, like all other heads of G-20 member nations, has been invited to the high-profile summit in Delhi.Recent reports also suggest that India has also sent invitations to neighboring Bangladesh, Gulf nations Algeria, Egypt, Oman, European countries Spain and the Netherlands, and Southeast partner Singapore.

India Reveals Why It Didn't Invite Ukraine to G-20 Summit

Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) Subramanyam Jaishankar on Wednesday revealed the reason behind not inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the G-20 leaders' summit scheduled to be hosted under New Delhi's presidency next month.
"Because the G20 is a group about the problems of global [economic] growth and development. This is a summit to discuss energy issues, proposals, food proposals. This is the G-20, not the UN Security Council. The G20 does not address issues of global security. That is why we made [such] a decision," Jaishankar said in response to a query by a Russian journalist in the national capital.
