11:38 05.09.2023 (Updated: 14:35 05.09.2023) The Kiev regime has been trying to carry out terrorist drone attacks inside Russia's territory since it launched its so-called "counteroffensive" in June. But Russia's military continues to foil all such Ukrainian terror attempts.
Russian air defense forces destroyed Ukrainian drones in the Kaluga and Moscow regions that were trying to attack Moscow overnight, Mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin said on Tuesday.
"Today at night, air defense forces destroyed drones in the Kaluga Region and in the Istra district [in the Moscow Region] that were trying to commit an attack on Moscow. There were no damage or casualties on the crash site of debris, according to preliminary data. Emergency services are working on the site," Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.
Another Ukrainian drone, that was also flying toward Moscow, was shot down in the Tver region, the mayor added.
"Air defense forces destroyed another drone in the Tver Region near Zavidovo that was flying toward Moscow. There were no casualties or damage, according to preliminary data. Emergency services have gone to the site," Sobyanin said.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian forces thwarted Ukraine's attempt to commit a
terrorist attack using a drone on the Russian territory overnight, with the drone destroyed over the Kaluga Region.
The ministry later stated that the air defense had also destroyed a Ukrainian drone in the Moscow Region.
Drone Eliminated Over Crimea
Russian air defense systems also shot down a Ukrainian aircraft-type drone over Crimea.
"On the morning of September 5, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects on the territory of Russia was thwarted. The unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Republic of Crimea by air defense on duty," the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
