G-20 Summit in New Delhi
The G-20 Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, set to be held from September 9 to 10, will be the culmination of India's G-20 presidency. As the host of the G-20 meet-up, India has withstood Western pressure on the issue of the Ukraine conflict and has refused to join the sanctions war against Russia.

The absence of Chinese President Xi Jinping provoked controversy in New Delhi considering the two Asian neighbours have been locked in a bitter border stand-off for more than three years in the East Ladakh region.
Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) Subrahmanyam Jaishankar underlined that China was supportive of various outcomes of the Leaders Declaration of the G20 summit, announced in New Delhi on Saturday.

"China was very supportive of various outcomes. It was due to the support of all we reached here," Jaishankar said at a press briefing by the Indian G20 presidency.

The remarks by India's top diplomat came following a massive diplomatic victory for the South Asian country as New Delhi managed to convince all G-20 member states on concerned issues, including the contentious topic of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, to adopt a declaration.
India's G-20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant subsequently described the development as historic and path-breaking, before stressing the fact that member nations reached "100 percent consensus" on all 83 paragraphs of the Leaders' Communique.

Huge India Footprint in G-20 Outcome Document

"There are 83 paras in all and all 83 paras have a 100% consensus. People, peace, and prosperity have 100 percent acceptance. All countries have supported, without a single footnote with 100% unanimity. This presidency has a huge India narrative, huge India footprint," Kant told reporters at the G20 press briefing in the national capital.

Going back to Jaishankar's comments about China, he was responding to a question from a media person who asked him if Xi's choice to send Premier Li Qiang to the G-20 summit in Delhi was a snub to India.
To this, Jaishankar expressed that the media shouldn't read between the lines, and should rather look at Beijing's overall participation in the G-20 deliberations under India's chair.
Furthermore, he stressed that China, like many other emerging economies, played a significant role in the outcome document of the summit.
