India and Pakistan cricket match at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo is likely to be delayed on Monday as the capital city of Sri Lanka witnessed a heavy downpour on Sunday and Monday morning.The ground staff is working on the ground and soon the umpires will inspect the pitch and decide on the playing conditions.The cricketing arch-rivals faced each other at the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup cricket tournament but rain cancelled the play.On Sunday, India had lost the wickets of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were in bat with eight and 17 runs respectively.The game was stopped at around 16.50 (IST) (11.20 GMT) although the umpires didn't decide to call off the match until 20.40 after inspecting the pitch and playing conditions several times.Earlier in the day, Colombo witnessed early morning showers due to which there was uncertainty over the cricket match but later the rains stopped.Colombo has continued to witness rainfall. Several media reports said that there was 1.1mm rain on Sunday night and 1.85mm is expected on Monday. The reports also said that there was a 90 percent chance of rain and drizzle all day.Earlier, the cricketing rivals met each other in the league stage of the tournament on 2 September and were forced to share a point each as that match was also disrupted by rains.

The Asia Cup cricket tournament is furiously contested by cricket teams from all over the Asian continent where the game is especially popular. The first time this tournament was staged was in 1984 in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. This year, the 16th time the tournament has been fought, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are hosting.
India and Pakistan cricket match at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo is likely to be delayed on Monday as the capital city of Sri Lanka witnessed a heavy downpour on Sunday and Monday morning.
The ground staff is working on the ground and soon the umpires will inspect the pitch and decide on the playing conditions.

By the time the match was stopped, India had already made 147 runs with the loss of two wickets after 24.1 overs. The match was due to resume on Monday from where it was stopped on Sunday.
On Sunday, India had lost the wickets of skipper
