Sputnik Moldova Head Banned From Entering Country Over Alleged National Security Threat

On Wednesday, the head of the Russian news outlet told Sputnik that he would be deported from the country, adding that a 10-year entry ban has been issued.
Sputnik Moldova head Vitaly Denisov said on Wednesday that he had received a 10-year entry ban, as he allegedly poses a threat to the national security of Moldova.

"I was given a copy of the decision that I must leave the country as a person posing a threat to the national security of Moldova, that I was banned from entering the country for 10 years," Denisov said, adding that he is currently at the Chisinau airport getting tickets to Moscow.

Russian MFA Summons Moldovan Charge D'Affaires

The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Moldova’s Charge d’Affaires over the expulsion of the head of Sputnik Moldova, the ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.
"The charge d'Affaires of Moldova in Russia has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the deportation of the head of Sputnik Moldova," Zakharova said.

Russia Demands Reaction From Int’l Organizations

The spokeswoman also said that russia demanded from relevant international structures to assess Moldova’s decision to expel Vitaly Denisov from the country.

"We demand that relevant international structures give a proper assessment of the actions of the Moldovan authorities. As for our response measures, they will definitely follow,” the Zakharova said in a statement, published by the ministry.
