After Canada linked India with the death of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, another designated terrorist asked Hindus to leave Canada.
In Punjab state, the National Investigation Agency, India's top counterterrorism agency, has seized a wide range of properties belonging to Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a pro-Khalistani group.
Seized properties include his residence in the city of Chandigarh and land in Amritsar, where the Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, stands as the holiest shrine of Sikhism.
"The action, which comes as a big boost to the country's crackdown on the terror and secessionist network being operated from various countries, including Canada, followed confiscation orders passed by the NIA Special Court, SAS Nagar, Mohali," a statement from the NIA read.
Pannun has 22 cases registered against him in India, including charges of terrorism.

SFJ Chief Threatens Indo-Canadian Hindus

Notably, the NIA's move comes days after Pannun issued threats to Hindus residing in Canada.
In a video posted on social media, Pannun was seen urging Indo-Canadian Hindus to leave the North American country.
"Indo-Canadian Hindus, you have repudiated your allegiance to Canada and Canadian Constitution. Your destination is India. Leave Canada, go to India," Pannun could be heard saying in the viral video.
"Pro-Khalistan Sikhs have always been loyal to Canada. They have always sided with Canada, and they have always upheld the laws and the Constitution," he elaborated.

Trudeau Links India With the Killing of a Khalistani Terrorist

This came after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Indian government "agents" were behind the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who led the outlawed Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), in June.
Nijjar is wanted by police in India for hate crimes and also has a bounty of INR 1 million ($12,000) placed on his head.

Canada - A Safe Haven For Terrorists

India has referred tp Canada's allegations as "absurd" and "politically motivated".

Moreover, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasised that Canada has become a "safe haven" for terrorists.

"Canada should worry about its growing reputation of being a safe haven for extremists and terrorists," an MEA spokesman stressed on Thursday.
