Apple had to bring iPhone assembly to a halt on Monday at its Pegatron Corp’s factory in Chennai in the southern Indian state Tamil Nadu after a fire incident was reported on Sunday night, media reports quoting sources said.According to the reports, the first two shifts of the day were also cancelled, while it is yet to be confirmed whether the workers will operate the third shift or not.As per data provided by research firm Counterpoint, Pegatron accounts for 10 per cent of the company’s annual iPhone production in India.Apple began iPhone assembly in India in 2017 via Wistron Corp and later Foxconn, aligned with federal government’s push for "Make in India".

a fire incident was reported on Sunday night, media reports quoting sources said.
According to the reports, the first two shifts of the day were also cancelled, while it is yet to be confirmed whether the workers will operate the third shift or not.
However, no casualties or injuries were reported as the factory was not operating due to a holiday and the extent of the damages have also not been confirmed.
As per data provided by research firm
