protest march was organized by Students' Federation of India (SFI), a left-wing organization, to
express solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Want Our Message to Reach the Israel Ambassador in India: Protestors
One of the detained protestors told Sputnik India that she had come to the protest against the "bombing of Gaza" by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Protestors remained defiant about violating the prohibitory orders, saying that they were protesting to just make their "dissent known" to the world.
"We want the Israeli ambassador in India to know that this must stop. We understand that your population is also under a lot of threat, but there is a history behind it. The process of colonization by Israel in Palestinian territories has to stop," a protestor said.
The protest in New Delhi comes against the backdrop of
hostilities between IDF and Hamas nearing almost two weeks, in the wake of the deadly terrorist attack by Hamas on 7 October.
Around 1,400 civilians were left dead in the Hamas' attack.
The retaliatory strikes by the IDF in Gaza have led to at least 4,741 deaths, according to Gaza authorities.
