India's Rajya Sabha and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal expressed confidence in India's economy in light of the suspension of free-trade talks with Canada, stating that it would be Canada's economy that would face the consequences.
Goyal emphasized that India, with its vast market and abundant
economic opportunities, would not be adversely affected by this development.
"The politicians of Canada have some baseless misconceptions. Their interests will be adversely affected; it would not cost India anything. We have a huge market, we have opportunities. Canada and Canada's economy will bear the brunt of this decision," the minister said.
