Pakistan Denies Supplying Arms to Ukraine: Foreign Ministry
For months, Pakistan has rebuffed allegations of sending weapons to Ukraine. The latest denial from Islamabad came this week.
Pakistan has rejected speculation that it was supplying arms and ammunition to Ukraine, the former Soviet nation currently mired in hostilities with Russian troops in the Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions after Moscow launched its special military operation in February 2022.
"It has not supplied nor does it intend to supply any arms to Ukraine," Foreign Office spokewoman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in Islamabad during a press conference.
Baloch added that providing
military equipment to Ukraine wasn't discussed during Tuesday's telephonic
exchange of the two nations' defense ministers.
"This topic, therefore, was not discussed during the telephonic conversation between the ministers of defense of Pakistan and Ukraine on 7 November," she commented.
This isn't the first time Pakistan has had to clarify its stance on weapons supplies to Ukraine.
In September, Islamabad dismissed a report published by an American media outlet that claimed that the South Asian state had agreed to
such a proposal in exchange for an
International Monetary Fund (IMF) financial package it secured in July.
