After actresses Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol and Katrina Kaif, yet another Bollywood superstar has fallen victim to an obscene deepfake video that has sparked an uproar on social media.
Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has been the victim of an obscene deepfake video after a morphed clip of her making inappropriate gestures went viral.
In the video, Bhatt's face has been superimposed on the body of another girl dressed up in a blue floral co-ord set and making seducing gestures.
The increasing prevalence of deepfake videos and photos featuring Indian public figures has sparked concern regarding the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) in the dissemination of false information, blackmailing, and harassment.
Netizens took to social media calling for strict action against the culprits for identity theft and for causing damage to the person.

Recently, actress Kajol became a victim of AI-generated deepfake videos after a video showing the actress changing clothes went viral.
Before this, actress Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video, showing her dressed in a black bodysuit and entering an elevator while smiling for the camera, stirred up the internet.
Superstar Katrina Kaif has also fallen prey to deepfake as her AI-generated picture from her recent movie 'Tiger 3' showcasing towel fight scene emerged on social media.
The original image featured Kaif donning a white towel and engaged in a fight with Michelle Lee. However, her photo was morphed and made her look indecent in a bikini.

Deepfakes refer to digitally altered videos, photos, and audio that are purposely created to disseminate false information and are exploited for generating pornographic material, spreading malicious comments, and portraying individuals in a bad light.
After frequent cases of AI-generated deepfake video and photos, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern and said that it's a big crisis in today's world as a very big section of society, which does not have a parallel verification system, end up believing them.
