India has maintained its support for a two-state solution following the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Hamas. India has delivered 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza since last month.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra has told Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that New Delhi was committed to continue sending humanitarian aid to Palestine, according to the Iranian foreign ministry.
Kwatra met Iran's top diplomat in Tehran on Sunday.
The Indian diplomat described Iran as an important power in the west Asian region, according to the Iranian readout.
The Indian foreign secretary stated that New Delhi was committed to expand
economic engagements with Tehran in the realms of agriculture, fisheries as well as medicine.
While New Delhi has condemned the Hamas' attack against Israel, it has also backed direct dialogue between Palestine and Israel towards a two-state solution.

Kwatra and the Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani co-chaired the 18th round of India-Iran Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in the Iranian capital the same day.

During the FOC, Kani and Kwatra discussed political, economic, consular, regional cooperation as well as international developments, according to an Iranian statement.
The Iranian deputy FM called for the need to put in place mechanisms which would make Iran-India cooperation "strategic and sustainable".
The Indian foreign secretary expressed confidence in furthering cooperation between the two nations in the
frameworks of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the two sides also discussed matters pertaining to connectivity such as Chabahar port project, capacity-building initiatives, people-to-people ties as well as the situation in Afghanistan and Gaza during the meeting.
"The Indian side appreciated Iran’s participation in the Voice of
Global South Summits held this year," the MEA noted.
