Since last month, Pakistan has been deporting undocumented Afghan nationals, a decision that has sparked tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
The Taliban* on Tuesday said that its government was assisting Afghan businesses in transferring their assets from Pakistan amid the neighboring nation's ongoing deportation drive for Afghan nationals.

"The committee is responsible for providing investment facilities for the immigrants who come from there under the leadership of the country's Minister of Commerce. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan considers it one of its obligations that the immigrants who invest and come to Afghanistan should be given land according to their specifications, and facilities should be created for them in obtaining permits and transferring their property and money," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in Kabul.

Mujahid's comments come at a time when relations between the once close allies are going through a tough time following months of tensions over the Taliban's inaction against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP**) sanctuaries in Afghanistan.
In retaliation, Islamabad decided to send back Afghan refugees settled in Pakistan for decades, including those who have flourishing businesses in the South Asian country.
As thousands and thousands of Afghan nationals return from Pakistan, the Taliban is making efforts to resettle them in Afghanistan, besides offering special allowances for setting up their businesses there.
For instance, the Taliban's Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi, has already announced that businessmen returning from Pakistan would be exempt from paying taxes for the next five years.
