Pakistan rolled out its new Main Battle Tank (MBT) "Haider" in a ceremony attended by the country's top brass, including Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Wednesday.The unveiling ceremony of the Islamic sovereign state's latest MBT took place at the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.Besides the Pakistan Army chief, China's Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, and the officials of the Chinese defense equipment manufacturer NORINGO.According to the ISPR, Haider has been domestically produced in Pakistan under a collaborative agreement with China's NORINGO.Following Haider's roll-out, General Munir described it as "another technological milestone" for Pakistan in the defense sector.

Pakistan has been modernizing its military, including the armored units of the Army. A key development in this regard took place this week.
Pakistan rolled out its new Main Battle Tank (MBT) "Haider" in a ceremony attended by the country's top brass, including Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Wednesday.
The unveiling ceremony of the Islamic sovereign state's latest MBT took place at the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
Besides the Pakistan Army chief, China's Ambassador to Pakistan
Jiang Zaidong, and the officials of the Chinese
defense equipment manufacturer NORINGO.
According to the ISPR, Haider has been domestically produced in Pakistan under a collaborative agreement with China's NORINGO.
"Haider MBT embodies cutting-edge technology & impressive capability in the domain of tank warfare having remarkable firepower, protection and maneuver characteristics. Crafted with state-of-the-art advanced technologies, Haider stands as a testament to Pakistani defense industry’s relentless pursuit of excellence in defense innovation," the ISPR statement read.
Following Haider's roll-out, General Munir
described it as "another technological milestone" for Pakistan in the defense sector.
