PM Sharif has officially submitted his resignation to Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N supremo.After Sharif's resignation, the PML - N has decided to call a general council meeting in Lahore on 28 May to elect a new president.After being convicted in 2018, the former prime minister was prohibited from holding any public office.However, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted him in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia cases on November 29 and December 12, respectively.After being acquitted, the former Prime Minister ran in the 2024 General Elections and was elected as the representative for NA-130 Lahore.In March this year, Sharif was elected as Pakistan's Prime Minister for the second time to lead a coalition government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party.
