Many geopolitical experts have highlighted America's alleged anti-India agenda in recent months, with Western media repeatedly questioning the South Asian nation's treatment of its minorities.
The Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS) underlined that the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) did not have a Hindu as a member and hence, it lacked balance as far as the annual publication of the International Religious Freedom report was concerned.

"One in every six people on the Earth are from the Hindu religion. That is not represented on the commission, and this is going to be a big miss in terms of bringing the diversity and having a proper balance in the International Religious Freedom report," Khanderao Kand, the Chief of Policy and Strategy at FIIDS said to Indian media.

Ripping into the commission's recent report on the world's largest democratic state, Kand pointed out that it wanted to put forth a "certain narrative" that "predictably" looked like "anti-India."
In its latest report published this month, the USCIRF stated that India was a "country of particular concern" due to its increasing cases of violations of religious freedom.
"The study does not contextualize. It does not give the historical facts or the trends. The report then fits to a certain narrative and that's why it is not factually complete, and it becomes a polemic. It is predictably anti-India. Unfortunately, it is recommending India to be a country of particular concern," he added.
Kand's criticism of the US comes amid rising cases of Western media's negative portrayal of India, especially raising questions about its human rights record and the persecution of minorities.
Such reportage of the Western media has faced severe backlash in India.
"All these anti-India reports and propaganda over issues like minority rights, and democratic backsliding, are basically to put pressure on India," Dr. Abhinav Pandya, the CEO of the Usanas Foundation, a strategic affairs tank based in Rajasthan state told Sputnik India recently.
