In a letter to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, his experience of 45-hour long meditation in Kanniyakumari and future plans for India's development.
India's governance model has become an example for many countries around the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi argued in a letter to the nation on Monday, a day before the results of Lok Sabha elections are released. He added that the world is looking to India as a strong voice for the Global South.
Modi highlighted in his letter that Bharat (India) has been moving forward with a sense of meaningful purpose and the country has been a cradle of ideas for thousands of years.
He underlined that India’s independence journey inspired many countries to achieve their freedom and the same spirit was seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"When concerns were raised about the poor and developing countries, Bharat’s successful efforts provided courage and assistance to many nations. Today, Bharat’s governance model has become an example for many countries around the world. Empowering 25 crore people to rise above poverty in just 10 years is unprecedented," the politician stressed.

He further claimed that innovative practices such as pro-people good governance, as well as aspirational districts and blocks, are being discussed globally today. Meanwhile, according to Modi, Bharat’s 'Digital India' campaign is another example of how impoverished people can benefit from technology.

"Our efforts, from empowering the poor to last-mile delivery, have inspired the world by prioritising individuals standing at the last rung of society. Bharat’s 'Digital India' campaign is now an example for the entire world, showing how we can use technology to empower the poor, bring transparency, and ensure their rights," the prime minister’s letter read.

Highlighting the success of last year's G20 Summit, the Prime Minister noted that the world is looking towards India as a strong and important voice for the Global South.

Need to Change Traditional Thinking

Meantime, the BJP leader underscored that it is important to shift the "traditional thinking regarding reform" and align with aspirations of "Viksit Bharat" (developed India) by 2047.
Modi believes that India has to move forward in every aspect, not just in economic reforms.

"We must also understand that reform can never be a unidimensional process for any country. Therefore, I have laid out the vision of reform, perform, and transform for the country. The responsibility of reform lies with leadership. Based on that, our bureaucracy performs, and when the people join in with the spirit of Jan Bhagidari [people’s participation], we witness a transformation taking place. We must make excellence the fundamental principle to make our country a Viksit Bharat," the PM wrote.

Apart from this, Modi also touched upon his experience from a recently-concluded 45-hour meditation at Vivekanada Rock Memorial in Kanniyakumari and said that he feels a "boundless flow of energy within myself."
