Earlier this year, India leapfrogged Japan to become the world's fourth-largest economy.
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday underlined that India was writing a new story under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting that "speed, scale, and sustainability" were the three mantras of development in the country at present.
"From Vande Bharat trains to Atal Tunnel, Bharatmala to Smart Cities, this is the story of a new India built on speed, scale and sustainability. It's not just development of roads, bridges or railways, it's about empowering people, boosting the economy and building a self-reliant India that's ready for the future," he wrote in his post on X.
It is worth noting that when Modi took over as Prime Minister of India, its economy was the 11th largest in the world; however, it now occupies the 4th rank in the pecking order behind the United States, China, and Germany.
Also, India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy in the world, consistently occupying that position for the last few years after recording a growth rate of over 6 percent year after year.
