MOSCOW, July 10 (Sputnik) - The role that Russia plays in the settlement of the Iranian nuclear program is larger than just mediation, Moscow is in contact with all interested parties and is helping to find solutions, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Thursday.
"We are conducting an intensive dialogue with all interested parties, with all those involved in this situation. It is not just Iran, it is also the United States... We are in contact with the IAEA on these issues. I would not call it an intermediary role. Our role is larger than mediation. We are not just providing some kind of good services and delivering signals from one side to the other. It happens too, but that is not the main thing. The main thing is our contribution to the stabilization of the situation through assistance in finding solutions. Our specific proposals," Ryabkov told a press conference.
Ryabkov mentioned, in particular, the proposal to export enriched uranium product from Iran to Russia for its subsequent processing into fuel for nuclear power plants.
"The IAEA is also conducting exploratory work, so mediation is just an element of what we are doing," the minister said
