Pakistan has faced near-daily attacks on its security forces and other vital military installations, especially in the volatile provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Terrorist related violence in Pakistan grew by 46% in the third quarter of 2025, data from the Islamabad-based non-governmental organisation Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) has confirmed.
According to CRSS statistics, Pakistan reported a total of 329 incidents of terrorism and counter-terror operations during the said period, resulting in at least 901 deaths and 599 injuries, including fatalities from security forces and terrorists.
Notably, Pakistan experienced a suicide bomb attack near the headquarters of its paramilitary force, the Frontier Corps, earlier this week, which killed 11 people, including two soldiers.
What's more important is that the CRSS report states that Pakistan is set to surpass the tally of deaths it recorded in violent incidents in 2024 in the present year.
While in 2024, the tally of deaths stood at 2,546, it has already reached 2,414 this year, with three months still remaining.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan is facing twin challenges in the form of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP*) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in its restive regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, respectively.
