White House Says Talks With Iran Should Be Approached With No Rush

The negotiations between the United States and Iran should be led without a rush, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said on Monday.
"There doesn't have to be a rush," Hassett told CNBC in an interview.
Last week, US President Donald Trump expressed his wish for the Iranian financial system to come crashing down, as it would mean a victory for the US.
On April 16, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said that the Treasury launched Operation "Economic Fury" against Iran to maximize economic pressure on the country. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent further said that the department would continue to exert maximal economic pressure on Iran.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by striking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
