Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to China on 19–20 May at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Kremlin said on Saturday.

"At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China on 19–20 May," the statement read.

Putin and Xi will discuss pressing issues in bilateral relations and ways to deepen the comprehensive partnership and cooperation between Russia and China, it added. Following their talks, a joint high‑level statement and several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed.
The visit programme also includes a meeting with Chinese Premier of the State Council, Li Qiang, during which prospects for trade and economic cooperation will be discussed, the statement read.
