The number of victims of Ukrainian attacks among civilians has reached a record high since the beginning of 2026, including children, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative in the UN Maria Zabolotskaya said on Wednesday.
"Meanwhile, only in the last week alone, from June 15 to June 21, 291 civilians suffered from Ukrainian armed forces attacks. 250 were wounded, including 20 children, and 40-one killed, including one child, the child. This is the highest figure since the beginning of 2026," Zabolotskaya told the UN Security Council on protection for children in armed conflicts.
Last week, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked using a drone a bus of a children's football team from Belarus, which was on its way to Gelendzhik on vacation. A woman was killed, and eight people, including six children, were injured.
Russian investigators are continuing to identify accomplices in the attack.
