Russia Receives No Response From UN to Appeal on Starobelsk Terror Attack: Foreign Ministry
Russia has not received a substantive response from the United Nations to its appeal regarding the deadly Ukrainian terrorist attack on Starobelsk in the Lugansk People's Republic, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov said.
In early June, Alimov handed photo and video material from the site of the terror attack to the director of the UN Information Centre in Moscow, Vladimir Kuznetsov, asking him to forward it to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Special Representative for Children, Vanessa Frazier.
"No, we have not received one ... To date, all letters we have received from the secretary-general have unfortunately been disappointing, as they did not contain substantive responses," Alimov said.
On 22 May, Lugansk People's Republic head Leonid Pasechnik said that Ukrainian forces had carried out a
terror attack on an academic building and dormitory of the Starobelsk Professional College of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University. According to regional authorities, 21 people were killed and more than 40 were injured.
