In his country statement at the BRICS DRR Meeting, the Iranian minister called on the 11-nation grouping to adopt a "clear and firm position" in condemning aggression, violations of national sovereignty, attacks against civilians, and the destruction of critical infrastructure, according to a readout by the Iranian Embassy in Delhi.Momeni said violation of Iran's territorial integrity, as well as attacks on critical and civilian infrastructure such as power plants, residential areas, schools and hospitals constituted violations of international law.Momeni called for enhanced BRICS and multilateral cooperation to counter growing global challenges such as climate change, natural disasters and pandemics.The appeal by the Iranian Interior Minister comes as the US CENTCOM completed its 13th straight night of strikes against Iran, according to the US statement.US President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy an Iranian bridge or a power plant.In response to Trump's threat, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi vowed a "powerful and a decisive response" to every US attack, as both sides continue to target civilian infrastructure in the conflict.

Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni attended the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Ministerial Meeting in New Delhi on Friday. The meeting was chaired by India's Minister of State (MoS) Home Affairs Nityanand Rai.
In his country statement at the BRICS DRR Meeting, the Iranian minister called on the 11-nation grouping to adopt a "clear and firm position" in condemning aggression, violations of national sovereignty, attacks against civilians, and the destruction of critical infrastructure, according to a readout by the Iranian Embassy in Delhi.
Momeni said violation of Iran's territorial integrity, as well as attacks on critical and civilian infrastructure such as power plants, residential areas, schools and hospitals constituted violations of international law.
"He emphasized that a united and resolute BRICS voice in defense of international law, respect for national sovereignty, and opposition to the use of force would send an important message to the international community and contribute to strengthening international peace, security, and stability," Iranian Embassy said.
Momeni called for
enhanced BRICS and multilateral cooperation to counter growing global challenges such as climate change, natural disasters and pandemics.
The Iranian Interior Minister described the group as an effective platform for promoting resilience, exchanging expertise, and expanding practical cooperation in disaster risk reduction and crisis management, the embassy readout said.
