Russia Aims to Achieve Military Operation Goals, Build New Security Architecture
Russia seeks to meet the objectives of the special military operation in Ukraine and create a new security architecture in Europe, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"For us, the priority is to accomplish the objectives set for the special military operation. That is priority number one. Another priority is building a new security architecture on our own continent, the European continent," Peskov told Vesti correspondent Pavel Zarubin.
Russian troops have been advancing along all front lines, and their progress is evident, he stressed.
"We are advancing on all front lines. The progress is evident, and the dynamics are absolutely positive for us," Peskov stated.
The spokesman said previously that Kiev had refused to discuss a peaceful resolution to the conflict, forcing Russian troops to continue pushing forward on the battlefield.
Further, the extent to which contacts between Russian and US intelligence agencies affect the Ukrainian peace process depends on the proposals put forward, Peskov said.
"This depends on the proposals and ideas that are voiced, but that is precisely why contacts between intelligence agencies are meant to remain confidential," Peskov highlighted.
US Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe visited Moscow on August 25. Peskov told journalists that the visit was related to contacts between intelligence agencies. Russian President Vladimir Putin was briefed on the meetings, but he did not meet with the CIA director.
