Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for shunning "double standards" on the issue of terrorism, while urging the SCO member countries to dismantle the "entire ecosystem" of terrorism, including its financing, recruitment, radicalisation, and safe havens.Describing terrorism as a "grave challenge" facing humanity, Modi said that nations can't just remain limited to an "action-reaction mindset".Further, Modi stated that a "peaceful and secure Eurasia" is also linked to peace and stability in Afghanistan, as he vowed India's continue support to Afganistan's developmental and humanitarian needs.In terms of the West Asia conflict, Modi highlighted its impact on global energy security, maritime trade, and supply chains.Dwelling on the theme of connectivity, Modi stated that India supported all efforts to connect different markets and facilitate trade in the region. Further, the PM called for simplifying customs processes, promote digital documentation, and make logistics networks more efficient.Lastly, Modi urged the SCO states to place people-to-people ties at the "centre" of SCO cooperation for the next 25 years.The Indian Prime Minister underscored that the SCO must build on its cooperation and move towards "tangible outcomes" in the next 25 years.

Addressing the 26th meeting of 10-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of States (CHS) in Bishkek, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that India's vision for SCO rested on three pillars- security, connectivity and opportunity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for shunning "double standards" on the issue of terrorism, while urging the SCO member countries to dismantle the "entire ecosystem" of terrorism, including its financing, recruitment, radicalisation, and safe havens.
Describing
terrorism as a "grave challenge" facing humanity, Modi said that nations can't just remain limited to an "action-reaction mindset".
"Nations that use terrorism as an instrument of state policy, and those that harbor and support terrorists, must be given a clear message: terrorism can never be a strategic asset for anyone," the Indian leader asserted.
Further, Modi stated that a "peaceful and secure
Eurasia" is also linked to peace and stability in
Afghanistan, as he vowed India's continue support to Afganistan's developmental and humanitarian needs.
In terms of the West Asia conflict, Modi highlighted its impact on global energy security, maritime trade, and supply chains.
"The countries of the Global South bear the heaviest burden of these disruptions. That is why India has consistently called for resolving all tensions and wars not on the battlefield, but through dialogue and diplomacy," the PM stated.
Dwelling on the theme of connectivity, Modi stated that India supported all efforts to connect different markets and facilitate trade in the region. Further, the PM called for simplifying customs processes, promote digital documentation, and make logistics networks more efficient.
"However, in these endeavors, respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations is imperative. This reflects the core spirit of the SCO Charter," he said.
Lastly, Modi urged the SCO states to place people-to-people ties at the "centre" of SCO cooperation for the next 25 years.
"Our cooperation within the SCO should not merely be government-driven, but people-driven," Modi said, while lauding the Kyrgyz presidency of the grouping for promoting youth engagement in SCO.
The Indian Prime Minister underscored that the SCO must build on its cooperation and move towards "tangible outcomes" in the next 25 years.
