President Putin to Welcome Witkoff to Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg: Kremlin Aide
Russian President Vladimir Putin will welcome US special envoy Steve Witkoff to the Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on Wednesday.
"In St. Petersburg, yes, Putin will receive Witkoff, it will be at the Constantine Palace today," Ushakov told reporters, adding that the talks will take place before Wednesday noon.
The meeting was agreed upon a few days ago, the Kremlin aide said, adding that the Ukrainian settlement will be part of the agenda of the talks.
Russian special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev will also take part in Putin's meeting with Witkoff, Ushakov added.
Representatives of Russia had no contacts with Volodymyr Zelensky, Ushakov said.
"We had no contacts with Zelensky, because what we once agreed on was all the time without him, why should it be now?" Ushakov told reporters when asked if Moscow shares US President Donald Trump's position that agreements on the Ukrainian settlement are possible without Zelensky's presence.
