Members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) are increasing cargo volumes transported along the Northern Sea Route, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"Transport arteries through Russian territory are becoming the shortest, safest, and most profitable corridor from Asia to Europe, as other routes are becoming more restricted. APEC economies are increasing cargo volumes along the Northern Sea Route," Lavrov said at the APEC ministerial meeting.

Russia is ready to share its experience in economic digitalization with its APEC partners, Lavrov added.
