Three Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) employees have been killed in two weeks by Ukrainian strikes, and an actual headhunt is underway for ZNPP employees, Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the 13th ZNPP employee was killed — an employee of the service department was driving with her husband in a car when a drone hit the windshield, both people died on the spot, Likhachev said.
"Five days ago, a welder at the plant was killed while going to work on a scooter," Likhachev said.
A week ago, a bus with a driver was hit, the head of Rosatom added.
"Thus, in two weeks we have three dead ZNPP workers at once. Saying that there is a natural headhunt for workers is not a figure of speech," Likhachev added.
Those who continue to go to work, ensure the safety of operation of power units, and maintain the equipment of the ZNPP are real heroes for whom the concept of duty is not an empty phrase, Likhachev emphasized.
"For our part, we, on the part of the entire Rosatom, will continue to provide maximum assistance and support to our colleagues, their families, and residents of Energodar," Likhachev concluded.
