On Tuesday, India claimed its third gold medal at the ongoing Asian Games in China, winning the Team Dressage event in equestrian.
Incidentally, this is the first time since 1982, when the Asian Games were held in New Delhi, that an Indian team has won the equestrian team competition, marking a first in 41 years.
The feat was accomplished by a team of four Indian athletes, Sudipti Hajela, Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda, and Anush Agarwalla, who overcame the stiff challenge from the hosts China in the final.
India finished on top of the podium after garnering an aggregate 209.205 percentage points, while China bagged the silver after accumulating 204.882 percentage points, followed by Hong Kong at 204.852.
This was India's third yellow metal in the current Asian Games edition.
Before their moment of glory in equestrian, India pocketed a gold medal in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle event in shooting and women's cricket.
