Pakistan's caretaker prime minister, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, told Sputnik on Wednesday that he was keen to build on existing cooperation with Russia.
"I am looking for a cooperative mode with the Russian Federation with new energy and perspective," Kakar said.
On Tuesday, the prime minister held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the margins of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing.
Putin and Kakar discussed bilateral cooperation with a special focus on trade, investment, and energy, while expressing satisfaction with the broadening of Russia-Pakistan relations.
