Pakistan's caretaker prime minister, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, told Sputnik on Wednesday that he was keen to build on existing cooperation with Russia.On Tuesday, the prime minister held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the margins of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing.Putin and Kakar discussed bilateral cooperation with a special focus on trade, investment, and energy, while expressing satisfaction with the broadening of Russia-Pakistan relations. During the talks, the two leaders also discussed the countries' joint efforts in the fight against terrorism, as well as regional stability and security.

11:29 19.10.2023 (Updated: 12:05 23.10.2023) Sputnik spoke with the caretaker Prime Minister as Russia and Pakistan develop their cooperation, especially in the energy sector.
Pakistan's caretaker prime minister, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, told Sputnik on Wednesday that he was keen to build on existing cooperation with Russia.
"I am looking for a cooperative mode with the Russian Federation with new energy and perspective," Kakar said.
On Tuesday, the prime minister held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the margins of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing.
Putin and Kakar discussed bilateral cooperation with a special focus on trade, investment, and energy, while expressing satisfaction with the broadening of
Russia-Pakistan relations.
During the talks, the two leaders also discussed the countries' joint efforts in the
fight against terrorism, as well as regional stability and security.
Following the meeting, Putin said that relations between Russia and Pakistan "traditionally have a friendly nature."
