Imran Khan Slams Pakistan Interior Minister Over Controversial Remarks
18:42 27.03.2023 (Updated: 10:21 28.03.2023) On Sunday, Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah warned former premier Imran Khan of going to any length to settle scores with him.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday hit back at the country's interior minister Rana Sanaullah for his controversial remarks, wherein the latter suggested that either Khan or the federal minister would remain in the national politics.
"My wish is that both (Imran and Rana Sanaullah) remain but if he is saying that then I will just say that he won’t remain," Khan told reporters in Islamabad in response to the Interior Minister's statement. "For politicians, the doors for talks remain open. Those who have been playing by collaborating with the umpire, what would they know about a level-playing field."
During the weekend, Sanaullah dubbed the cricketer-turned-politician as an "enemy" of Pakistan's current government led by Shehbaz Sharif.
Sanaullah argued either Khan "will get murdered or us", declaring Khan has turned politics into "enmity".
"PMLN's entire existence is in jeopardy and we will go to any extent against him to settle a score with him. Imran Khan has turned politics into enmity. Imran Khan is now our enemy and he will be treated like that," the minister said.
Meanwhile, Khan got a major relief from the Islamabad High Court (IHC), after he was granted bail in multiple cases related to the violence which took place between his supporters and the police at the judicial complex in Islamabad on March 18.
The clashes took place following Khan's appearance in the Toshakhana (state gift repository) case.
