Khan was arrested in August after a case was filed against him for allegedly violating the Official Secrets Act by disclosing a secret diplomatic cable.
The former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who is serving a jail term, has been allowed to have a telephone conversation with his two sons, based in the United Kingdom.
The permission was granted to Khan by a special court, reports said.
Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain - superintendent of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Khan serving his sentence - ordered that arrangements be made to ensure a conversation between the former Prime Minister and his sons, Sulaiman and Qasim Khan.
Last week, the court declared that Imran Khan - along with former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi - would be indicted on 17 October, which would mark the official beginning of the trial in the case.
However, on 17 October, the court adjourned the indictment of Khan and his close aide Qureshi until 23 October.
In September, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted a plea in the special court accusing a jail superintendent in Attock court of contempt of court for forbidding Khan to speak with his sons, despite court orders having been issued to the contrary, local reports said.

“[Khan] was earlier granted permission by the special court, formed to hear cases registered under the Official Secrets Act, to speak to his sons. However, the PTI chief in the petition sought contempt of court proceedings against the Attock jail superintendent for violating the court’s order,” they said.

The PTI leader was ousted through a vote of no-confidence in April last year and incarcerated on 5 August this year, after a court sentenced him to three years in prison.
