Iranian Navy Intends to Register Mediterranean Sea Command Centre
Iran’s Navy commander has stated that his troops intend to establish a research presence in Antarctica, also indicating their continued aspiration to register a commander centre in the Mediterranean Sea.
Iran is interested in registering a commander centre in the Mediterranean Sea, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, commander of the Iranian Navy, said on Saturday at an Arak University meeting with academics.
Speaking about his forces' accomplishments over the previous two years, including their circumnavigation of the globe, the commander of the Navy stated, that "today, three command centres run by the Islamic Republic have been registered in the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, and we hope that one command will also be registered in the Mediterranean Sea, and we hope that the equipment of one of these commands will be supplied by the industries of the Markazi province".
"The presence in
Antarctica has started scientifically, we still do not have enough information in this region, and we must use the potential of universities to set up our base in Antarctica in a scientific way", the admiral mentioned in reference to their presence there.
Furthermore, Irani said, "Iran has the largest share in the Caspian," and that the first exercise would be carried out with its Deylaman destroyer once it is operational in the region. The rear admiral also described the Caspian Sea as a sea of goodwill and peace.
