Call for BRICS-Centric Security Order as NATO Criticized by French Politician
The new security order in the world should be without military blocs like NATO or the Warsaw Pact, Florian Philippot, the French Patriots party candidate in the European Parliament elections, told Sputnik.
Speaking with Sputnik, Philippot said that the West does not want to negotiate a new security architecture by ignoring the influence of BRICS, but the unipolar world is over.
He emphasized the shifting dynamics of the world stage, stating, "The West doesn't want to talk about it, because they don't want to admit that the world is different now. A more balanced world, which is the BRICS, is a fact. The unipolar world of American imperialism is over." Philippot highlighted the significance of BRICS, noting that their combined GDP now surpasses that of the G7 countries, symbolizing a new era.
Furthermore he said that there is now "a rebalancing in international trade and even diplomacy." Changes in the balance of power "will be increasingly evident for demographic, economic, political and military reasons."
He urged for dialogue and cooperation between countries of the North and the South to enhance global security, criticizing the reinforcement of
US military bases in
Europe as escalating tensions.
"Who is trying to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict today? Who is trying to make a more balanced rhetoric? These are the BRICS countries, for example, Brazil. Twenty to twenty-five years ago France would have played this role. Could have. But the baton has now been captured by the countries of the South. I regret that France is silent and following the United States on this issue," the politician said.
