S. Jaishankar has been the face of India's foreign policy with many crediting him for making New Delhi's stand clear at multiple forums. Once again, he highlighted why the South Asian country's take on geopolitics is making waves around the world.
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has revealed the main mantra behind the success of India's foreign policy, which has played a key role in taming fuel prices domestically amid inflation and recession in western nations.

"It is not an if, it is a when. When I go out and explain foreign policy of last 10 years to people, I would actually tell them, 'Modi ki Guarantee (Modi's Guarantee) works as much abroad as it does in the country'. It is Modi ki Guarantee which moved the whole Indian system in Operation Ganga wherein five ministries were deputed, Operation Kaveri, Operation Vande Bharat during Covid or checking on well-being of our people in the Gulf countries during the pandemic," India's top diplomat said at a media conclave in New Delhi on Tuesday.

For the unversed, Operation Ganga was an operation launched by the Indian gov't to evacuate its nationals from Ukraine and its neighboring sovereign states after February 2022. Similar rescue missions were conducted in other nations, like, for example, in Sudan (Operation Kaveri).
Jaishankar added that India's foreign policy was based on the premise of its national interest, which he asserted was the paramount reason behind all the decisions taken by the present Narendra Modi-led government.
"We have a national interest, and a national welfare in a way, we will do what it takes, we will send troops in the height of Covid to defend our northern borders, we will react to terrorism in a way that will deter any repetition of such attacks, works in different ways," Jaishankar elaborated.
It is worth mentioning that even India's arch-rival Pakistan has lauded New Delhi for its independent foreign policy, keeping the welfare of the nation's citizens at its core.
