In addition to that, one of the key characteristics of Akashteer is its focus on mobility. The domestically manufactured system is said to be highly mobile due to its vehicle-based design and that's why it is expected to deliver on its promise of engaging with aerial threats even in extremely difficult communication terrains like the Himalayas in India's north and northeast regions.

Indian Army Gets Shot in the Arm With Arrival of Indigenous Air Defence Control & Reporting System
India's Defense Forces are currently going through a huge modernization process with the induction of the latest military equipment and technologies. The Indian Army got a shot in the arm with the introduction of a newer platform this week.
The Indian Army's capabilities got much deadlier with the arrival of the indigenous Air Defense Control and Reporting System codenamed Akashteer.
"Giant leap for Aatmanirbhar Defence. First lot of fully indigenous Air Defence Control & Reporting System (Akashteer) flagged off today by DCOAS (CD&S), Lt Gen JB Chaudhari, in presence of CMD BEL from BEL's Ghaziabad Unit," the state-run Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), specializing in the production of advanced avionics and Air Defense systems for the Indian Armed Forces said in a statement on Thursday evening.
On the other hand, the Indian Army called it a "significant induction" in the domain of "automation of Air Defence operations
in consonance with achieving Aatmanirbharta in the Defence Sector."
It is worth highlighting that the prime aim of "Project Akashteer" is to augment the
"situational awareness" of the country's air defense network to such an extent that it can identify friendly aircraft and take on enemy jets with an "unprecedented level" of accuracy.
Akashteer is being projected as a major booster for the Indian Army as it is set to transform the South Asian nation's air defense control and reporting procedure through its automation process.
In addition to that, one of the key characteristics of Akashteer is its focus on mobility.
The domestically manufactured system is said to be highly mobile due to its vehicle-based design and that's why it is
expected to deliver on its promise of engaging with aerial threats even in extremely difficult communication terrains like the Himalayas in India's north and northeast regions.
