The business agenda of the St. Petersberg International Economic Forum revolves around four main themes: "Transitioning to a Multipolar Global Economy," "Russia's New Economic Cycle: Objectives and Targets," "Leadership Technologies," and "Promoting a Healthy Society, Upholding Traditional Values, and Prioritizing Social Development by the State."
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) serves as one of the foremost global platforms for business discourse and addressing critical economic matters concerning Russia, emerging markets, and the international community.
With over 17,000 participants from 130 countries confirming attendance, SPIEF 2024 will convene in St. Petersburg from June 5 to 8.

Each year, SPIEF draws over 10,000 attendees from Russia and abroad, including heads of state and governments from developing nations, corporate leaders, and esteemed experts in science, media, and civil society.

Under the overarching theme of "The Foundations of a Multipolar World – the Formation of New Areas of Growth," participants will explore collaborative approaches among government, business, and society to foster sustainable development aligned with national priorities.
SPIEF 2024's business agenda encompasses four key tracks: "Transition to a Multipolar World Economy," "Goals and Objectives of Russia's New Economic Cycle," "Technologies for Leadership," and "A Healthy Society, Traditional Values, and Social Development: the Priority of the State".

The Sultanate of Oman holds an honorary guest status at the forum, alongside notable figures such as Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.

Expected attendees likewise include Bolivian President Luis Arce, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and Prime Minister Felix Moloua of the Central African Republic. Additionally, a delegation from the Taliban’s* government in Afghanistan is set to participate.
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 documents, comprising investment agreements and memorandums, are anticipated to be signed during the event, building on the momentum of last year's forum which saw over 900 agreements valued at $42.5 million.

SPIEF: 27 Years of Global Economic Dialogue

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already conveyed his warm regards to the attendees, hosts, and visitors of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. In his address, Putin highlighted the forum's enduring legacy of over 25 years, emphasizing its role as a forum where politicians, experts, business figures, scholars, and media representatives from across the globe convene for substantive dialogues on pivotal economic trends both in Russia and on a global scale.

"Our country is open to constructive dialogue and interaction with partners and is ready to work together to address the economic, social, scientific, and technological challenges of our time. I am confident that the forum will jump-start new and promising initiatives and projects, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries and peoples," Putin stated.

Characterizing the discussions as profoundly pertinent and impactful, the Russian leader articulated that an increasing segment of the global community advocates for the establishment of an equitable and democratic framework of international relations, underpinned by principles of genuine parity, acknowledgment of each other's legitimate interests, and reverence for the cultural and civilizational diversities of nations.
These foundational principles serve as the cornerstone of BRICS' endeavors, with Russia assuming the chairmanship this year.

Remarkably, the genesis of this dynamic coalition, whose member states collectively represent more than a third of the global economy, originated at the 10th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2006.

Putin also underscored Russia's commitment to fostering constructive dialogue and cooperation with its partners, remaining receptive to joint efforts in addressing the economic, social, scientific, and technological challenges of the contemporary era.
