Amid a growing influx of Afghan nationals from Pakistan, the Taliban* warned of the problems that the winter chill could pose to their survival in the impoverished South Asian country.
"Winter is coming, and I'm sure that the immigrants are having many problems, their medicine and health issues, their food issues, and issues of winter and cold," the Taliban's commerce minister Nooruddin Azizi told reporters in Kabul.
Pakistan has vowed to deport all undocumented Afghan citizens from its territory, with an estimated 300,000 already leaving the neighboring nation, and began sending them back on November 1.
Pakistan's crackdown on unregistered Afghans came months after its government claimed that the Taliban administration in Kabul was not taking action against the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP**) hideouts there.
Pakistani authorities have repeatedly blamed the TTP for several terrorist attacks in the country, including a suicide bombing of a Peshawar mosque that killed over 100 in January.
