The ninth G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit (P20 Summit) was held in New Delhi on 13-14 October.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Summit, which concluded with a powerful valedictory address by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
During the P20 Summit, Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, delivered a compelling message emphasizing India's unwavering stance against terrorism. Birla proclaimed that his nation will never permit any form of terrorist activities to transpire on its sacred land.
Birla made his statement on Sunday during a press conference where he addressed questions regarding his bilateral meetings with his G20 counterparts throughout the summit.
Birla was asked if any G20 spokesperson had raised the issue of the presence of people in India who are involved in separatist activities abroad. "India has a clear stand against terrorism. There is no iota of compromise against terrorism and India has never supported terrorism in any form and will not support terrorism in any form," the Lok Sabha Speaker said.

"The government's position on this is very clear. The Prime Minister has also said it in his statement. The government has made it clear that terrorism and terrorist activities have no place in India," Birla said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that India will under no circumstances tolerate any type of terrorism, regardless of its religious or caste origins. This resolute stance reflects the unequivocal policy of the government.
He also highlighted the success of the Summit by informing the media that a total of 436 delegates, including 48 Members of Parliament, besides the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Parliaments of the G20 and invited countries, participated in the Summit.
He emphasized that, unlike last year in Indonesia when they failed to reach a joint declaration, this year they were able to achieve consensus on it, which clearly showcases India's exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment.
