Five years ago, a convoy of more than 2,500 Indian security personnel got ambushed while they were heading from Jammu to Srinagar, resulting in the deaths of 40 soldiers.
India on Wednesday remembered martyrs on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying rich tributes to the martyrs, as he said in a tweet that “their service and sacrifice for our nation will always be remembered”.

Rahul Gandhi, a parliamentarian from the Congress party, posted a tweet from his Jammu visit last year and wrote in Hindi: “Salutes and humble tribute to the brave martyrs of [the] Pulwama terrorist attack. The country will always be indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice.”
