India on Wednesday remembered martyrs on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying rich tributes to the martyrs, as he said in a tweet that “their service and sacrifice for our nation will always be remembered”.Apart from Modi, federal ministers as well as members of opposition parties also paid homage to the martyrs.Federal Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet said that the nation would "forever remain indebted to our bravehearts".Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur in a heartfelt tweet said that “their selfless service and undying commitment to the security of the nation will always be remembered”.Rahul Gandhi, a parliamentarian from the Congress party, posted a tweet from his Jammu visit last year and wrote in Hindi: “Salutes and humble tribute to the brave martyrs of [the] Pulwama terrorist attack. The country will always be indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice.”A convoy of more than 2,500 Indian security personnel was attacked on 14 February 2019 as it was heading from Jammu to Srinagar. The terrorist group, Jaish-e-Mohammed, led by Masood Azhar, claimed responsibility for the fatal attack.This deadly act of violence claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops.
