Over 143 people were killed at a concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow in what is being described as the worst terror incident in two decades.
Desperate Ukraine could be directly or indirectly involved in Friday's terror attack in Moscow, which was aimed to create unrest in the country only days after President Vladimir Putin's landslide victory in the Russian Presidential elections, an Indian expert specializing in terrorism has said.
According to strategic affairs pundit Qamar Agha big powers or countries, often try to divert attention from the real issues.

Islamic State* Could be Ukrainian Front

Hence, he believes it is quite possible that Ukraine is using the Islamic State to divert attention from the real perpetrators.

"Moreover, within the Ukrainian Army, some groups are extremely hostile to Russia, and these could go to any extent to create unrest in the Eurasian country. That's why it is very much possible that the Ukrainian Army personnel could be involved in this horrible terror attack," Agha told Sputnik India on Saturday.

He reckoned that Ukraine and its allies, including the US might have provided intelligence, weapons as well as the money needed to execute such a large-scale attack in Moscow.

Attack in Moscow Shows Desperation of Ukraine

"Ukraine is desperate. Even Pope Francis recently asked them to surrender and come to the negotiation table and settle their differences with Russia immediately. The reason is that most of the states supporting Ukraine have come to conclude that Russia cannot be defeated," Agha expressed.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian Army is in bad shape, and how long they would continue their fight against the Russian forces with borrowed weapons and money coming from abroad, he asked.
It is worth noting that the US almost instantly denied Ukraine's involvement in the attack in Moscow with White House spokesman John Kirby issuing a statement in this regard.
"There is no indication at this time that Ukraine, or Ukrainians, were involved in the shooting. I would disabuse you at this early hour of any connection to Ukraine," Kirby said at a media briefing in Washington.
Washington's quick denial raised more suspicion than removing any kind of apprehension with the Russian Foreign Ministry asking the US how the Joe Biden administration was making such claims even before any kind of an investigation.
"The White House said it sees no indication that Ukraine or Ukrainians were involved in the terrorist attack in Moscow. On what basis do officials in Washington draw any conclusions in the midst of the tragedy about anyone's involvement? If the United States has or had reliable information on this matter, it must be immediately handed over to the Russian side," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on social media.
